Hello, and a warm welcome to Calder Hearingcare!   Thanks for taking the time to look around our website.

I'm Michael, owner and audiologist.  I've been involved in private hearing care for over sixteen years and have worked for several well-known national companies during that time.   While that undoubtedly afforded me a wealth of valuable experience, I was never really comfortable with the fact that the commercial pressures of the company often stood at odds with the best interests of my clients.  Inevitably, this often put me on a collision course with sales managers...
Being invited to work for an independent, family-run hearing aid dispenser taught me that it was possible to do things differently.  I finally felt able to spend as much time as I needed to deal properly with my clients' hearing issues, as well as being completely free to do what I'd always tried to do: give my clients exactly the same advice as I would give a member of my own family.  I've carried that philosophy over to my own business and, although there are plenty of headaches involved, I'm happy to be in the position of having to answer to no one but my clients!
